Dundee United manager Peter Houston was left angered after substitute Rudi Skacel had an ‘equaliser’ ruled out in the 2-1 defeat at Hibernian.

The former Hearts winger headed in from Willo Flood’s delivery after fellow replacement Gary Mackay-Steven had already cuts Hibs’ two-goal advantage at Easter Road.

“It’s the wrong decision from officials again. We’re told how we’ve got the best officials, but that’s a mistake, that’s an error,” Houston told BBC Scotland. “These things happen, but it’s disappointing when you should have got a goal.”

Houston was also unhappy by his side’s slow start to the game, which found them comfortably in arrears early in the second-half.

“We can’t play like we did in the first half; we were really poor, I thought, in the first half,” he added. “We were second to all the scraps and never did well at all. At half time we spoke about the fact that we had to do a lot better, and to be fair to the lads, we did.”
