Dundee United have received a home tie in the last sixteen of the Scottish League Cup.

The Tangerines will host top-flight Partick Thistle at Tannadice early next month.

It follows United this afternoon qualifying as one of the best runners-up with a 2-0 home success against Dunfermline Athletic. Both goals arrived after the break courtesy of Simon Murray and Scott Fraser.

The rest of the second round draw features: Rangers v Peterhead; Celtic v Motherwell; Hamilton Academical v Greenock Morton; Hibernian v Queen of the South; St Johnstone v Heart of Midlothian; Alloa Athletic v Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ayr United v Aberdeen.

Ties are scheduled for either 9th, 10th or 11th August.
