Hundreds of Dundee United supporters are expected to pay their last respects to former Chairman Eddie Thompson at his funeral later today.
Although the ceremony is limited to close family and friends, there will be loudspeakers broadcasting the service to anyone outside the St Mary’s Episcopal Church in Broughty Ferry.
Lifelong United supporter Eddie Thompson lost his long fight with prostate cancer last midweek, but his passing still came as a shock to everyone connected with the club.
Dundee United`s match against Rangers was postponed as a mark of respect, with other SPL matches including a minute`s applause in recognition of Eddie Thompson`s involvement in the Scottish game.
