Dundee United manager Peter Houston was left frustrated by the 0-0 draw with Ross County in the Scottish Cup fourth round at the weekend.

The return clash between last season’s finalists failed to lift up to its previous status as both sides rather laboured throughout the ninety minutes.

“It was a poor game,” Houston told BBC Scotland. “Not a great deal of chances, but I don’t think we are lucky to still be in the cup in any way.

“I thought Ross County defended very well and tried to hit us on the counter-attack, which we expected.

“When it gets into the last third, I expect better from my players. Our delivery wasn’t great.”

Houston believes that the replay in Dingwall next week could, however, be a far more open affair.

“I think they will open up a bit and, hopefully, our quality will be better and that can see us through,” he added.
