Dundee United striker Francisco Sandaza has been told to remain positive and that his injury is not as bad as first thought.

The 25-year-old was expected to be ruled out for around a month after damaging his hamstring in the recent game against Livingston. And it left the unfortunate Spaniard naturally feeling both dejected and very disappointed.

“Fran’s injury is less serious than we feared but he is still missing training and I don’t know if he will be fit for the first game of the season,” manager Peter Houston told The Courier.

“He is dejected because he is picking up these injuries but I have told him not to worry about it. It is not his fault ? it is not as if he means to get injured.”
