It looks likely that defender Paul Dixon will become the 2nd Dundee player to walk across Tannadice Street to join Dundee United, after midfielder Scott Robertson signed last week.

However, Dundee are attempting to re-dress the balance by offering a trial to former Dundee United midfielder Charlie Miller.

The 32-year-old has been released by Belgian side Lierse and will travel to Malta with Alex Rae`s squad for their pre-season build-up.

The former Rangers and SK Brann midfielder was a fan`s favourite during his time at Tannadice, with an ability to change the outcome of the match with his talent and ability to read the game.

Many United supporters credit Miller with saving the club from relegation during the 2000/01 campaign, when he controlled the 2nd half of a crucial match against Saint Johnstone at McDirmid Park.

United were 2-0 at half-time and looks completely out of the match, until Saint Johnstone midfielder Paul Hartley was sent-off 4 minutes into the 2nd half.

Charlie Miller scored a 65th minute goal, before starting to dominate the midfielder, ending in a 3-2 win for Alex Smith`s side after an 81st minute Craig Easton goal and a decisive 89th minute winner from Derek Lilley.

Miller has been linked with a return to Dundee United several times since leaving the club under freedom of contract in 2004, but the former Scottish International has decided to join rivals Dundee instead.
