Former Dundee United midfielder Stephen O’Donnell has signed a twelve-month deal at Dundee.

The 27-year-old has impressed sufficiently during a pre-season trial at Dens Park to earn himself a permanent contract.

O’Donnell originally began his career with the Arabs and made seventeen league appearances.

He later had spells at Ross County (loan) and Clyde before spending the past three seasons at St Mirren.

Dundee have also snapped up 24-year-old ex-Celtic and Hamilton Academical winger Nicky Riley.
