Midfielder Fraser Fyvie struck twice as Dundee United knocked Dunfermline Athletic off the top of the Championship table.

The Tangerines moved in front when goalkeeper Sean Murdoch could only parry Jamie Robson’s cross into Fyvie’s path ten minutes prior to the break. He was to make no mistake and finished clinically.

And the visitors soon extended their advantage as Scott McDonald added a second from close-range following James Keatings’ free-kick.

Billy King also struck the crossbar for them before a third goal arrived around the hour-mark, with Fyvie driving spectacularly into the top corner after Willo Flood crossed.

Home substitute Callum Smith later headed a consolation from six-yards against opponents now just a single-point off the leadership.
