Dundee United bid to reclaim top spot in the Championship when hosting fourth-placed Dunfermline Athletic this afternoon (kick-off 3.00pm).

The Tangerines surrendered the leadership after their faltering 1-1 draw at Brechin City was followed by St Mirren coming from behind to beat Livingston 3-1 in midweek.

Defender Tam Scobbie is suspended having been sent-off at Glebe Park and is set to be replaced by William Edjenguele, although Paul Quinn remains another option.

Otherwise long-term victims Lewis Toshney and Jordrie Briels remain out.

“We have had a talk, both as a group and to each player individually, about what was wrong and what we can do better,” manager Csaba Laszlo told the Dundee Evening Telegraph. “You can’t win every game but you have to try to win every game, but you can lose a goal, this can happen.

“When it does you have to come back in the game and do the good things you were doing.”
