Dundee United manager Craig Levein wasn`t completely convinced by the performance against Saint Miren on Sunday afternoon, because he thinks United are capable of playing better football.

However, Levein was happy that his side managed to continue their impressive run this season, with a 2-0 victory over the Paisley side.

Goals from Noel Hunt and on-loan striker Jordon Robertson catapults Dundee United into 3rd place in the SPL table after taking an impressive 13 points from the opening 6 matches.

Saint Mirren had defender Franco Miranda sent off for a 2nd bookable offence, after a lunge on captain Barry Robson in the 67th minute, but Dundee United were already 1-0 up at the stage and looked in control of the match.

“I am thrilled with the way we went about our business today,” admitted Levein to the Courier after match.

“This was a game a lot of people expected us to win, and in the past Dundee United have not followed through with the expectation placed on them.

“It took us a long time to break St Mirren down and we had to be patient. The icing on the cake is the clean sheet, and going forward we could have had four or five goals.”

“All round it was a pretty decent performance and I know we can get better.”
