Dundee United crashed 3-0 at home to Greenock Morton to slip further behind Championship leaders St Mirren.

The visitors went in front ten minutes before the break as Thomas O’Ware headed in from Michael Tidser’s free-kick.

Scott Tiffoney added another early in the second half, this from around twenty-five yards, before defender Jack Iredale wrapped it up with ten minutes remaining.

The Tangerines were desperately poor while creating hardly anything during the opening half and leaving the pitch to a chorus of boos.

It didn’t improve much following that either, and so they remain eleven points short of the leaders with now only a single game in hand.
