Paul Dixon was warning his Dundee United colleagues not to underestimate St Mirren’s revamped side ahead of their meeting today.

New Buddies boss Danny Lennon has been busily raiding his former club Cowdenbeath in a bid to strengthen his squad over the summer.

And Dixon has warned that just because some of those new arrivals may have come from slightly more humble roots, it isn’t going to make the task any more easy.

“It is going to be a tough one against a much-changed team with a new manager,” he told the Press and Journal. “They may have a lot of new faces but we will treat them like any other SPL team – with plenty of respect.

“When I came to United it was from the First Division,” Dixon continued. “Myself, Danny Swanson, Scott Robertson, Craig Conway and Morgaro Gomis are all proof that you came come up the leagues and do well for your team. We can`t afford to be complacent.”
