Defender Paul Dixon has confirmed he will be leaving Dundee United when his contract comes up at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has completed more than a century of appearances in four years at Tannadice but is keen for a move to England despite his current club still strongly challenging for Europe.

“I think I have made my mind up, to be honest, that I will be moving on at the end of the season even if we get there,” Dixon told the Dundee Courier. “I have had four great seasons here so I will leave with a heavy heart but I feel it’s time for me to move on and get a new challenge elsewhere.

“I would like to go to England but obviously that depends on having offers to go down there,” he continued. “I will just concentrate on playing my game ? not pay attention to who might be watching me ? and hopefully my agent will be doing his job. I am still a United player and I have three games left in which I will be giving 110%.”
