Dundee United have brought in Polish centre-back Jaroslaw Fojut from Tromso.

The 26-year-old arrives at Tannadice on a two-year contract after originally beginning his career with Bolton Wanderers. He also had loans at both Luton Town and Stockport County until joining Slask Wroclaw five years ago.

“He is a commanding player who knows British football from his time at Bolton,” manager Jackie McNamara told United’s official website. “Jaroslaw is a strong and aggressive player. He will add to our defence and I am delighted to have secured him.

“We now have strong competition in the central defensive area of our squad and that was something we knew we had to address this pre-season.”
