Dundee United skipper Jon Daly admitted the 4-0 defeat at Rangers at the weekend has left him with sleepless nights.

The Arabs were always in trouble after an early Sean Dillon own goal and their opponents took firm command after the break with Kenny Miller scoring twice.

“I was awake for a good bit of Saturday night just thinking about the game,” Daly told The Courier. “It was one of those matches where we passed the ball quite well for most of it but we then gave it away in key areas and they punished us.

“Teams like Rangers and Celtic will do that,” he continued. “However, I think 4-0 was a harsh result as, for most of the game, we played quite well.

“I had a good chance with a header but there was quite a lot of spin on the ball which made it difficult. I have set myself high standards though and I would normally expect to put that one away.”
