Skipper Jon Daly was set to return to the fold for Dundee United’s pre-season clash with Hull City at the KC Stadium.

Daly has been struggling with a groin problem recently and has missed the last few games. But he was back in training towards the end of the week and was due to head south with the rest of the squad.

“It`s only been a minor problem and he looks fine now, so we`re taking him and he should be involved,” manager Peter Houston told the Evening Telegraph.

Lithuanian international trialist centre-half Irmantas Zelmikas was also poised for another start, but Danny Swanson (Achilles) and Craig Conway (groin) have both been ruled out.

Meanwhile, two United youngsters have been allowed out on loan, with Dale Hilson moving to Forfar Athletic for a month and Ryan McCord going to Airdrie until the end of the year.
