Dundee United face stiff competition for the signing of former Rangers striker Kris Boyd.

The 30-year-old SPL record goalscorer is out-of-contract at top-flight rivals Kilmarnock and was recently linked with a possible move to Tannadice.

However, Aberdeen are similarly chasing his services and their manager Derek McIness has already held talks with the Scottish international.

French club Nimes are also keen on a player who scored 22 goals for Killie last season.
