Weekend marksman Damian Casalinuovo says that manager Peter Houston was right to launch into an angry tirade at the break of their unconvincing 1-1 draw at Glentoran.

The Argentine striker then went on to head a last-minute equaliser following a cross from fellow substitute Jennison Myrie-Williams as the lethargic visitors finally escaped with a draw.

“The boss wasn’t happy at half-time because we were sloppy and you couldn’t blame him for being upset,” Casalinuovo told the Daily Record. “Although it is pre-season, our performance should have been better.

“But when the season starts in three weeks you’ll see a better United,” he continued. “We had a great trip to Austria, one of the best pre-seasons I’ve ever had, but we know performances will have to pick up now.”
