Manager Csaba Laszlo was expecting a physical battle in the big clash with Livingston on Friday evening.

Only three points separate the two clubs towards the top of the table, with third-placed United currently trailing their hosts but with a couple of games in hand.

Livingston approach the contest having comprehensively beaten leaders St Mirren 4-1 at the weekend.

“That was a great result for Livingston and showed us that we must be careful when we go there,” Laszlo warned The Courier. “They are a very physical team. They play with the same style as before and it is very effective.

“Maybe they don’t show the most beautiful football but it works well for them,” he added. “For that reason, we must be prepared. We must be ready for the battle first and foremost and then after that we can play football.”
