Former Dundee United striker Billy Dodds has publicly criticised his former club, by claiming they lack imagination upfront and don’t entertain their supporters.
Dundee United have secured an impressive 10 points from the first 5 matches of the season.
However, according to the former Rangers, Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Dundee and Chelsea attacker – that is mainly down to the impressive performance of on-loan Polish keeper Grzegorz Szamotulski.
The BBC Sportsound pundit suggested that Dundee United lack attacking flair, despite backing Craig Levein`s side to take all 3 points against St Mirren this weekend.
“Dundee United have not been great to watch this season. They don’t have much in the way of flair in attack,” claimed Dodds when predicting the weekends SPL results for the BBC.
“Craig Levein has given them a really solid look, they have found a smashing goalkeeper, and they just don’t lose goals.”
“St Mirren will be smarting after losing five goals at home to Celtic and getting knocked out of the CIS Cup by East Fife.”
“But Gus MacPherson will be looking to take points from the teams expected to be at the bottom end of the table and he’ll be satisfied with their league position.”
“I can see United picking up the points quite comfortably.”
Dodds has predicted a 2-0 win for United at Tannadice on Sunday and has also backed Rangers, Kilmarnock and Hibernian for away victories.
Not surprisingly Dodds also thinks Celtic will win comfortably against Inverness Caley Thistle, but believes the Aberdeen v Motherwell match will end in a 1-1 draw.
