Dundee United boss Peter Houston is sure his side will soon enjoy a change of luck.

The Arabs are currently on a run of three successive defeats during which they have netted two own goals, been denied a clear penalty and also twice conceded inside the last few minutes.

“We’re not getting any luck at the moment,” Houston told The Scotsman. “Look at last Saturday’s Motherwell game. We scored two own goals.

“We’ve been losing goals late on in games in unfortunate circumstances and minor mistakes are being punished. But I’ve told the boys it will turn again for us. We’ll soon start getting the break of the ball again if we continue to work hard.”

Meanwhile, Houston is keen to see other members of his team start to contribute in terms of goals aside from strikers Jon Daly and David Goodwillie.

“We’ve been relying on Jon Daly and David Goodwillie to score goals so that has to change,” he added. “You can’t just rely on your strikers. We need the midfielders to shoot rather than pass on the edge of the box sometimes because we do have players who can score.”
