Dundee United have turned down a bid of around £650,000 from Middlesbrough for their Scottish international winger Craig Conway.

The Arabs had been preparing themselves for an offer after Boro contacted chairman Stephen Thompson over the weekend.

However, the Championship club’s valuation is still well below that of the Tayside outfit, who are believed to be looking to get closer to £1.2m.

Meanwhile, there is also another unnamed club from the same division interested in the 25-year-old former Ayr United forward.

But manager Peter Houston will be keen to avoid any immediate player movement with their Europa League qualifier second-leg in Athens only seventy-two hours away.
