Dundee United visit League One side Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Cup fourth round on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

The two clubs have already met in the Challenge Cup this season at Tannadice, with the hosts eventually progressing through but only courtesy of a couple of late goals.

However, the Tangerines are currently missing the likes of Scott Fraser, Fraser Fyvie, Jordie Briels, William Edjenguele and Lewis Toshney through injuries.

At least midfielder Sam Stanton has signed a permanent deal from Hibernian, with striker Thomas Mikkelsen also returning to the club on loan from Ross County.

And while they have won just one of their last four league games, manager Csaba Laszlo was remaining positive looking further ahead.

“Every season there is no team, normally, that always is just going and going and constantly is up,” he told the Dundee Evening Telegraph. “Every time is a little period when it is bit down. In my opinion there have been two times Dundee United have been a little bit down.

“We have dropped but we have stabilised again,” Laszlo added. “We had two games, Falkirk and St Mirren, that was when we could talk of crisis and we had a lot of injuries. Now I hope we can go up.”
