Dundee United’s want-away midfielder Scott Allan will head to the Midlands to hold talks with West Bromwich Albion next Friday.

The Terrors have already agreed a fee for the Scotland Under-21 international with Albion manager Roy Hodgson, who is keen to finally wrap up the deal.

“Scott Allan is a very talented young Scottish player that we’re very keen to sign,” Hodgson told BBC Sport. “We think he’ll be a very good player not only for the next few months but also for the future.

“We can offer the best possible coaching, he’ll be joining a good club and a club that’s in the top half of the Premiership – and all of those things are very important.”

The 20-year-old’s current deal runs out in the summer and he has already alerted interest from Celtic and Rangers amongst others.
