Fifth round Scottish Cup action for Dundee United when travelling to Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4.30pm).

Manager Csaba Laszlo believes it’s an opportunity for his side to make “positive headlines” following recent poor league form costing them dearly.

The visitors are currently languishing well off the pace in the Championship with now a fourteen-point gap between themselves and clear leaders St Mirren.

“The reality is that Aberdeen are the favourites. There is a gap between them and us,” Laszlo admitted to the Dundee Evening Telegraph. “They play in the Premier while we are in the Championship. They are in the second position in their league and we are in second in ours.

“So we want to go up and they want to stay in their position and go into Europe. Both teams have positive targets but they are different ones,” he added. “There is the gap, too, between the clubs financially but this is a good possibility to fight back a little bit and make positive headlines.”

The Dons could recall striker Stevie May after returning to training following ankle trouble, although goalkeeper Joe Lewis is still ruled out due to a knee problem.
