Several of Dundee United`s 1st team squad will go “under the knife” this summer, in preparation for the start of the 2007/08 campaign.

Defender Christian Kalvenses will return to Norway for an operation on a hernia, which kept him out of the final match of the season against Motherwell.

Meanwhile, young midfielder Greg Cameron has been struggling with a groin problem in over the last few months and Keith Watson missed out on a start against Celtic after dislocating his kneecap in the warm-up.

“Christian Kalvenes has a hernia problem which is why he missed the last game of the season against Motherwell, so he’ll be having an operation back in Norway and will be with us for the pre-season,”
admitted manager Craig Levein.

‘Greg has seen the specialist about his groin and I’m hoping he’ll be having surgery within the next week to 10 days and Keith Watson goes to see a specialist 10 days from now.”
